PDP suspends Abia lawmaker over alleged anti-party activities

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended Hon. Rowland Ceaser, the lawmaker representing Isiala Ngwa South State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly.
The suspension, issued by party executives in Orono Ward 7, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area, comes after Ceaser openly declared his support for Governor Alex Otti, who is not a member of the PDP.
In a suspension letter dated February 17, 2025, the party accused Ceaser of engaging in anti-party activities, stating that his actions violated the PDP’s principles and loyalty expectations.

The letter signed by the Ward Chairman, Mr. Ikechukwu Enemanna, and the Ward Secretary, Mr. Ubani Munachimso reads:
“I wish to convey the decision of the ward executives of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Omoba Ward 7 on your suspension from the party with effect from today, 12 February 2025.
“The decision was made based on your incessant anti-party activities.
“Recall that your attention was drawn to this issue last year and you seem not to have redressed your steps and actions.
“There’s no way you will be in our party and be supporting a governor that is not a member of our party to the extent of assuring him a second tenure.”
