Bandits kidnap ex-LG boss in Kebbi, set his car ablaze

Umar Namashaya Diggi, the former Chairman of Kalgo Local Government Area in Kebbi State, has been abducted by unidentified assailants along the Birnin Kebbi-Diggi Road.
The incident occurred on Monday, February 17, around 12:30 a.m. while Diggi was traveling to his village from Birnin Kebbi.
Reports indicate that he was pursued by an unknown vehicle and forced to stop at Gayi village, where the attackers set his Toyota Corolla (KLG 637 AA) on fire before taking him away.
Security forces recovered several items from the scene, including a lighter, a stick, and a fuel-like substance suspected to have been used in the attack.
A full-scale investigation has been launched, with the Kebbi State Police Command confirming the abduction and ongoing efforts to track down the perpetrators.
