ISWAP terrorists launch deadly attack on military post in Borno

Suspected terrorists of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) have launched a deadly overnight assault on a military outpost in Diffa, Borno State, forcing troops to retreat before infiltrating a densely populated area, local sources report.

According to a report by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the attack began around midnight between February 14 and 15, with the terrorists wielding automatic weapons to overpower security forces.

Facing intense gunfire, the troops withdrew, allowing the assailants to briefly enter the Festival Quarter, a heavily populated district.

Before retreating, the attackers reportedly looted supplies, with unverified images of stolen items circulating online
