Truck crushes polytechnic student to death

Tragedy has struck at the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi as a National Diploma (ND1) student of Mass Communication, Faith Adesola, lost her life after being hit by a truck.
Confirming the incident , the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Rabi’u Muhammad, explained that Adesola had just arrived at the polytechnic on a commercial motorcycle when the accident occurred.
“Adesola was conveyed to the Polytechnic by an okada man, and she was about to cross the main road from the opposite side of the institution when suddenly the truck driver hit the okada man, thereby killing the deceased student in the process,” he said.
Following the tragic accident, officials from the institution, including the chief security officer, the head of student affairs, and other staff members, rushed to the scene. However, Adesola was pronounced dead by the polytechnic’s medical director.
Muhammad further confirmed that the commercial motorcyclist survived the crash.
He noted that the institution had informed the student’s parents and had representatives present at her burial service.
“The institution’s delegation had attended her burial services at both church and cemetery yesterday (Thursday),” he added.
The PRO also urged students to be cautious when while crossing the road while coming to the institution for their studies.
