 Minister engages Abejide as lawmaker pushes for mass housing scheme for constituency

In a bid to strengthen legislative-executive collaboration and foster deeper democratic engagement, the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Ata, has paid a courtesy visit to the lawmaker representing Yagba East, Yagba West, and Mopamoru Federal Constituency, Leke Abejide.

During the visit on Wednesday , the minister commended the lawmaker for his outstanding representation and dedication to the development of his constituency.

Ata applauded the lawmaker’s contributions to democratic governance and acknowledged his role in legislative affairs.

He also emphasized that Abejide’s commitment to his constituents exemplifies the qualities necessary for national progress.

In a statement released by the Minister’s aide, Seyi Olorunsola, on Thursday, Ata encouraged Abejide to consider joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He suggested that aligning with the APC would open avenues for more developmental initiatives in the constituency, enhancing collaboration between the lawmaker and the federal government.

According to the Minister, Abejide’s political experience and influence would be valuable in advancing the administration’s policies and projects if he were to join the ruling party.

On his part, Abejide warmly welcomed the Minister and his delegation, expressing gratitude for the visit and the words of encouragement. He reiterated his commitment to fostering cooperation between the legislative and executive branches to ensure effective governance.

During the discussion, Abejide made a case for his constituency’s inclusion in the Renewed Hope Housing Agenda under the Tinubu administration. He highlighted the pressing need for housing development in Yagba East, Yagba West, and Mopamoru, stressing that his people have been significantly impacted by the national housing deficit.

“The housing deficit in the country is a major challenge, and my people are not exempt from its impact. I believe that with the Renewed Hope Housing Agenda, the government can make significant strides in addressing this issue. I strongly urge the Honourable Minister to consider my constituency in the implementation of this laudable initiative,” Abejide stated.

In response, the minister  assured  Abejide and his constituents that their concerns would be given serious attention.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring access to affordable housing for all Nigerians, regardless of their location. The Minister also praised Abejide’s dedication to his people and described him as a patriot devoted to their well-being.
