Close ally of ex-president Buhari passes away

Kano has lost a prominent political figure, Amadu Haruna Danzago, the Managing Director of REMASAB, who passed away in the early hours of Thursday at his Bachirawa residence in Fagge Local Government Area.

His funeral prayers will be led by Emir Sanusi at Kofar Kudu Palace by 1:00 PM today.

Danzago was a seasoned politician with a long history in Kano State politics. He served as the ANPP chairman and was a political advisor to Governor Ibrahim Shekarau between 2003 and 2007.

A close ally of former President Muhammadu Buhari, he played a pivotal role in the emergence of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) as the interim chairman in Kano State before later serving as a special adviser to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on Agriculture (2015–2021).

In 2023, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf appointed him as the Managing Director of the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB).
