Gunmen invade Plateau community, abduct family of 3

Suspected bandits launched an attack on Dogon Ruwa Community in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State on Monday, abducting a husband, his wife, and their child.
The invasion, which occurred around 11 a.m., caused panic as residents fled for safety. According to a reliable source, two individuals sustained gunshot injuries during the incident.
Confirming the attack, Shapi’i Sambo, a youth leader in the area, disclosed that the gunmen arrived, shooting sporadically to scare residents before abducting their victims.

He further revealed that security personnel, alongside local vigilantes, have moved into the surrounding bush in a bid to rescue the kidnapped family and apprehend the assailants.
He said, “When the gunmen arrived the community, people were going about their normal activities. The gunmen started shooting sporadically to disperse residents.
“Many people fled to safety. Unfortunately, a man, wife and child were abducted. The armed men came with sophisticated weapons”.
He added that the two injured persons have been taken to hospital in Dogo Ruwa for treatment.
Meanwhile, spokesman of the Plateau State Police Command, DSP Alabo Alfred has not responded to inquiry by our correspondent regarding the incident as at the time of filling this report.
