The Ogun State Police Command has arraigned the suspended Olorile of Orile Ifo, Semiu Adewale Ogunjobi, over allegations of assaulting a 73-year-old chief, Abraham Areola.

Ogunjobi faced three charges, including conspiracy, assault, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace. The arraignment took place on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, as confirmed by Nigeria Police spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

“He was granted bail while the case was adjourned to March 6, 2025,” Adejobi said, assuring that justice would be served.

The incident, which gained public attention through a viral video, has sparked discussions about accountability among traditional rulers.
