64 feared killed as plane collides with US army helicopter near Washington
Plane Crash

Tragedy struck near Reagan National Airport on Thursday when an American Airlines plane carrying 64 people collided with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter.

The devastating incident occurred as the plane approached the runway.

According to reports from CNN, fatalities have been confirmed, though rescuers have yet to find any survivors. The aircraft had 60 passengers and four crew members on board, while the Black Hawk helicopter carried three soldiers.

In response to the incident, former President Donald Trump described the collision as “preventable” in a post on Truth Social, calling for stricter aviation and military coordination protocols.

Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the crash, while authorities and rescue teams continue their efforts at the crash site.

“The airplane was on a perfect and routine line of approach to the airport. The helicopter was going straight at the airplane for an extended period of time. It is a CLEAR NIGHT, the lights on the plane were blazing, why didn’t the helicopter go up or down, or turn.

“Why didn’t the control tower tell the helicopter what to do instead of asking if they saw the plane. This is a bad situation that looks like it should have been prevented. NOT GOOD!!!,” Mr Trump said.
