BREAKING: Tension erupts at PDP BoT meeting as Anyanwu, Ude-Okoye fight dirty

A mild drama unfolded at the Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday, as Samuel Anyanwu and Sunday Ude-Okoye clashed over the contentious position of National Secretary.
The opposition party, already grappling with multiple crises, convened the high-stakes meeting at its National Headquarters in Abuja.
The session was officially declared open by the BoT Chairman and former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, at exactly 12:05 p.m.
Anyanwu was present at the commencement of the meeting, while Ude-Okoye made a tense entry five minutes later at 12:10 p.m., setting the stage for an intense atmosphere.
Shortly after, the meeting moved into a closed-door session as tensions simmered over the ongoing leadership struggle.

Recall that, in 2023, the PDP’s South East zone nominated former National Youth Leader Sunday Ude-Okoye to replace Anyanwu as National Secretary after he was chosen as the party’s candidate for the Imo State governorship election.
The South East PDP contended that Anyanwu should no longer hold the position following his selection as the Imo candidate, sparking further controversy.
On December 20, 2024, the Appeal Court in Enugu upheld Ude-Okoye as the PDP National Secretary, and the decision was formally communicated to the party leadership on December 24.
However, last week, the Court of Appeal in Abuja issued a restraining order, directing Anyanwu to remain National Secretary until the Supreme Court resolves the appeal.
