Man arrested for reportedly p0uring h0t oil on wife during argument

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Sholola Kazeem for allegedly attacking his wife, Sholola Mutiat, by pouring h0t oil on her and stabb! ng her during an argument.
Confirming the incident in a statement on Saturday, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Omolola Odutola, revealed that the altercation occurred around 12:20 p.m. in the Ring Road area of Owode, located in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the state.
“The Divisional Police Officer in Owode Egba division has promptly intervened in a case involving gender-based violence and assault against a housewife, leading to the arrest of her husband for causing various injuries to her,” Odutola stated.
She further explained, “On January 18, 2025, at about 12:20hrs, the divisional police officer received a report from members of the Ring Road community regarding an incident involving Sholola Kazeem, a male resident, and his wife, Sholola Mutiat, who resided at the same address.
“It was reported that Sholola Kazeem, in an uncontrollable anger over a misunderstanding, poured hot oil over his wife’s body and also stabbed her in the head.”
The victim was rushed to Ore Ofé Hospital for medical attention, while police officers examined the scene of the crime.
“The suspect has been apprehended and is currently under investigation,” Odutola added.
This incident has sparked concern over the rising cases of domestic violence in the region.
