Group exonerates Barau Jibrin over reported cancellation of Kwankwaso’s appointment

Kwankwaso’s Appointment An APC Support Group in Kano State has exonerated the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, over the speculated cancellation of the appointment of Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso as an Executive Director (Finance) at the Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority.

Kwankwaso, an APC chieftain in the state, was given the appointment by President Bola Tinubu alongside other persons,recently.

But insinuations have rented the air that the appointment of Kwankwaso has been cancelled, blaming Senator Barau for the cancellation.

The insinuations came from some of Kwankwaso’s supporters who went on social media to accuse the Deputy President of the Senate of being behind the alleged cancellation.

However,the APC Support Group in a statement dismissed the allegations, saying that Senator Barau Jibrin has nothing to do with the cancellation as he is not privy to the appointment of anybody because he has no such executive powers.

The statement which was signed by the President of the group, Dr Tijjani Dan Mai Kirki, said:”In any case, appointment and/or review of it is nothing new in Government, because after appointing a person, a Technical Committee would be set up to re-examine his suitability or otherwise.

“And in the case of the appointment of Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, same technical committee worked on his appointment and found that he is not an Engineer by qualification and the job in question requires a qualified Engineer or technician to manage.

“With this, we don’t see where Barau Jibrin comes in,”Dan Mai Kirki explained,noting that after the review of the appointment, another suitable person from the same Kano State would be appointed.

The group cautioned politicians against “creating bad blood against innocent people such as the Deputy President of the Senate,Barau Jibrin.”
