Faleke : Abejide warns political jobbers against instigating unhealthy politics

Elder Leke Abejide, a member of the House of Representatives representing Yagba East, Yagba West, and Mopamuro in the National Assembly, has called on political actors and supporters in the federal constituency to refrain from involving his colleague, Hon. James Faleke, in divisive political discussions.
The Kogi lawmaker made the statement in response to political comments suggesting Faleke’s involvement in constituency matters ahead of the 2027 elections.
Abejide, in a statement personally signed and released on Wednesday in Abuja, emphasized his commitment to governance and the welfare of his constituents, urging political stakeholders to focus on constructive discourse.
Abejide, who also serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Customs, expressed confidence that Hon. Faleke was not responsible for the remarks attributed to him.

He described those perpetuating the narrative as “political jobbers” seeking to create unnecessary distractions.
“Please and please leave Hon. Abiodun Faleke out of this unhealthy politics some people started in December 2024 for an election that is still in 2027 in Yagba Federal Constituency,” Abejide stated.
“I am very sure and confident Hon. Faleke did not send them to utter all those words credited to him. They are only using his name to curry favor for themselves. So, please forget about all the noise and let us concentrate on how the lives of our people will be better, not the politics of destruction some people started so early in 2024.”
Abejide reaffirmed his dedication to his legislative responsibilities, particularly in overseeing the implementation of his constituency’s first budget for his second term. He dismissed any attempts to drag him into premature political contests, asserting his focus on alleviating the challenges faced by his constituents.
“As for me, I am only ready to face governance to alleviate the suffering of our people. My first budget for my second term has not even been executed, and some people who have nothing to do except being political jobbers will drag me into politics and distract me—never!” he declared.
