Tension as bomb explosion rocks Imo

A bomb explosion has wreaked havoc on a newly constructed bungalow in Umuneke, Mbieri, located in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.
The blast occurred on Saturday night, leaving the community in a state of fear and uncertainty about the cause of the explosion and their safety.
Sources have confirmed that the house had only recently been completed, with the occupants planning to move in by February of this year.
A source, Ikenna Chinedu, said, “We just heard a massive sound, which was heard in other villages. When we gathered the nerves to check the cause of the sound, we saw the newly completed bungalow in rubble.

“The painful part is that the couple worked hard to build their house and planned to move in February. We still don‘t know what caused the explosion, but it doesn‘t look ordinary.
Chinedu said, “We slept last night with one eye open, but we‘re hoping to get information on what really happened. Hopefully, when the owners come, they will authorise a proper inspection of the house.”
Efforts to speak with the Imo Police spokesperson, DSP Henry Okoye, proved abortive as his number appeared unreachable.
