Police officer in trouble over viral video with Okoya’s sons

A police officer featured in a viral video alongside Wahab and Raheem Okoya, sons of billionaire businessman Razaq Okoya, has been detained for misconduct related to naira abuse.
The development was confirmed by Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who shared the update on his X account on Friday.
Adejobi described the officer’s actions as unethical and contrary to the core values of the Nigeria Police Force, adding that disciplinary measures are currently being taken.
“The policeman captured in the recent viral video shared by the sons of the Lagos businessman, Chief Okoya, where they were abusing the naira, has been identified and detained for disciplinary action,” Adejobi wrote.
“The involvement of the policeman has been condemned, as it’s unethical. We will always strive hard to uphold the sanctity, credibility, and core values of the police. Thanks,” he added.
The viral clip, which surfaced last week, sparked widespread criticism, with many suggesting the individuals involved might avoid repercussions due to their privileged background.
In the video, Wahab and Raheem Okoya, dressed in white agbada attire, were seen reportedly flaunting stacks of N1000 notes to promote Raheem’s new song, Credit Alert. A mobile police officer was also shown holding bundles of cash while the brothers danced and tossed the money into the air.
