Yoruba, Igbo, others should go separate ways if Nigeria has failed them – Igboho

Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, better known as Sunday Igboho, has expressed that many Nigerians no longer feel pride in their nationality due to the country’s ongoing struggles.
In a video posted online on Thursday, Igboho, who was filmed at an airport in the United Kingdom, attributed the decline in national pride to issues such as corruption, insecurity, and a struggling economy.
He further stated that if Nigeria continues to falter as a unified nation, it would be better for various ethnic groups like Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa to part ways.
Igboho emphasized that young people from the Yoruba ethnic group, having gained valuable exposure from traveling abroad, are eager to help transform the Yoruba nation into a modern and prosperous society akin to European countries.

“Even inside the airport, there is no security. They can steal your belongings inside your bag (in Nigerian airports). All these are the things dissuading people from being proud of the country, Nigeria,” Igboho remarked.
He added, “Things like that make us sad to identify ourselves as Nigerians. This is why we advocate for separation. If Nigeria is not working as a country, it is better we go our separate ways.”
He concluded, “Our (Yoruba) youths will transform Yoruba nation. Most of them have travelled across the world, and they have learned a lot. If they come back to Yoruba land, the knowledge will help them build it and transform the nation like those in Europe.”
