It takes place every four years, just before the swearing-in of a new administration. This year’s event precedes the inauguration of Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance.
The prayer breakfast, organized by Reverend Merrie Turner, will be held at the prestigious Waldorf Astoria Presidential Ballroom. It will feature a distinguished roster of speakers, including Dr. Alveda King and Pastor Mario Bramnick.
Bassey, widely celebrated for his work as a gospel artist and trumpeter, is also the convener of the Hallelujah Challenge, a global Christian worship movement that has gained significant traction online. He is known for popular songs such as Imela, Onise Iyanu, and Olowogbogboro.
In 2024, he received a notable honor from the Mayor of Albany, New York, who declared October 6 as “Pastor Nathaniel Bassey Day” in recognition of his contributions to gospel music and ministry.
