Miyetti Allah leader, 2 others killed in Katsina 

The Katsina State Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN),  Surajo Leader, and two others were fatally attacked by gunmen in Mai Rana, a community in Kusada Local Government Area, late Saturday night.

According to local sources, the attackers also abducted two of the chairman’s wives and his daughter, who is reportedly a university student.

The victims were buried in accordance with Islamic traditions, as residents expressed fear and unease over the incident.

The spokesperson for the Katsina State Police Command, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, confirmed the tragic event, stating that officers swiftly responded, engaging the gunmen in a gunfight. “Our operatives forced the attackers to flee, leaving behind one of their vehicles and one of the abducted wives,” Aliyu disclosed.

Efforts to locate and rescue the remaining captives and apprehend the attackers are ongoing. The police have called on members of the public to provide credible information that could aid in locating the suspects.

The incident has heightened security concerns in the region as authorities continue their investigation.
