Former UniAbuja Vice Chancellor dies at 73

A former Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja (UniAbuja), Professor Nuhu Yaqub, has died at the age of 73.

The academic, who served as the university’s Vice Chancellor from 2004 to 2009, passed away in Abuja following a brief illness.

The University of Abuja confirmed his death in a statement released on Facebook, expressing their condolences to his family and loved ones.

“The University of Abuja mourns the passing of our esteemed former Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nuhu O. Yaqub, OFR (2004–2009).

“Yaqub passed away this morning in Abuja, after a brief illness, at the age of 73.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. May Allah grant him Jannat ul Firdaus, ameen,” the statement read.
