Zulum visits former Boko Haram s enclaves approves major construction works PHOTOS

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has approved a major waterworks construction and the rehabilitation of roads in Bama, a town severely impacted by Boko Haram insurgency.

During his visit to Bama on Thursday, Zulum announced the projects while paying homage to the Shehu of Bama, Dr. Umar Kyari Umar Elkanemi, at the Shehu’s palace.

“Our administration has achieved significant progress in rebuilding efforts in places like Banki, Darajamal, and Mayenti, but Bama remains one of the hardest-hit communities. The destructions here were unimaginable,” the governor stated.

The waterworks are expected to improve access to potable drinking water in the area. Zulum noted that similar water projects have been completed across the state in areas like Ngarannam, Pulka, Chibok, and Gowza, among others.

The governor also unveiled plans to rehabilitate Bama’s township roads to enhance transportation and ease the movement of residents.

Additionally, Zulum directed the establishment of a high Islamic college in Bama. The institution aims to integrate formal education with non-formal learning and offer certification for Almajiri education.
