Why I visited Babangida in Minna Peter Obi

Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi on Thursday paid a visit to former Head of State, retired General Ibrahim Babangida at his residence in Minna, Niger State.

Obi, who contested the 2023 presidential election, said the visit was to discuss national matters and exchange views with the elder statesman.

“From Jigawa State, I travelled to Minna, Niger State to pay a visit to a father figure, elder statesman and leader, the former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, at his residence in Minna, Niger State,” Obi shared on his X account on Thursday, alongside photos from the visit.

He further explained that the visit served as a chance to extend New Year wishes and gain insight from the former leader.

“General Babangida’s wisdom and perspectives remain very important, and I always deeply appreciate the chance to visit him and listen to his invaluable advice and words of wisdom,” Obi stated.
