Why I d rather kill than die for Nigerians Burna Boy

Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy has called on Nigerians to stop comparing him to the legendary Afrobeat pioneer and activist, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

Known for his socially conscious music, Burna Boy has often drawn parallels to Fela, but he recently pushed back against the comparisons.

The controversy arose amidst backlash over Burna Boy’s alleged detention of fellow artist Speed Darlington, who reportedly defamed him.

Responding to the criticisms, Burna Boy made it clear that he is not Fela and does not wish to be seen as a reincarnation of the late activist.

Burna Boy went further to highlight the stark difference between himself and Fela, stating, “I’d rather kill than die for Nigerians.” This bold declaration has sparked intense conversations online, with fans and critics debating his stance and the implications of his statement.
