Motorists stranded as Abuja-Kaduna road blocked

Traffic along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway ground to a halt on Sunday afternoon as a blockage near the Katari-Jere axis left numerous motorists stranded for hours.

Vehicles, including trailers and tankers, were parked haphazardly across the road, creating a chaotic scene and leaving travellers uncertain about when passage would resume.

Reports from eyewitnesses suggest the gridlock persisted for several hours, with no visible efforts to restore normal traffic flow.

The blockage primarily affected passengers travelling from Kaduna to the Federal Capital Territory, with many expressing frustration over the lack of intervention.

While the Abuja-Kaduna road has historically been a hotspot for bandit attacks, the area has seen improved security measures in recent times, contributing to a period of relative calm.
