NBA star, Janis Timma found dead in Moscow

Latvian basketball player Janis Timma has tragically passed away following a reported fall from an apartment building in Moscow.
The 32-year-old, known for his successful EuroLeague career with teams like Zenit Saint Petersburg and Olympiacos, was found in the stairwell of a high-rise residential building, according to reports from Mail Online.
Timma’s death occurred on the birthday of his ex-wife, Ukrainian singer and actress Anna Sedokova.
A phone containing a message from Sedokova was reportedly found next to Timma’s body, discovered on Monday. Preliminary investigations suggest the cause of death to be suicide.
Timma and Sedokova were married in 2020, but their relationship ended earlier this year when Sedokova filed for divorce. Following the heartbreaking news, a devastated Sedokova shared an emotional message on Instagram Tuesday morning.
Standing at 6ft 7in, Timma was a highly accomplished player. Selected by the Memphis Grizzlies with the 60th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, he was later traded to the Orlando Magic and featured in the 2021 NBA Summer League.
Beyond his club career, Timma proudly represented Latvia in both junior and senior tournaments. Notably, he was part of the team that secured a bronze medal at the 2010 FIBA U18 European Championship.
Since his senior debut in 2014, he played 35 matches for the Latvian national team, amassing an impressive 338 points.
