Nigerian gov approves immediate payment of December salaries for civil servants

One of Nigerian governors, Usman Ododo of Kogi State has approved the immediate payment of December salaries for civil servants and pensioners in the state.
Announcing the development on Saturday, Kingsley Fanwo, the Commissioner for Information, stated, “The payment of December salary on the 14th of December is to enable civil servants plan and enjoy their Christmas and New Year holidays after working so hard throughout the year.”
He explained that the early payment would allow workers intending to travel for the holidays to make plans ahead of time, rather than waiting until later in the month for their salaries.
Fanwo highlighted that the state government implemented a similar gesture during the Sallah break to help civil servants celebrate with their families.
