Fire razes goods worth millions in Lagos market

A devastating fire broke out early Wednesday morning at the Alaba Rago Market in Ojo, Lagos State, destroying goods worth millions of naira.
The fire started around midnight, although the cause is yet to be determined.
Femi Oke-Osayintolu, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), confirmed that the agency quickly responded to the distress call.
LASEMA’s emergency response plan was activated, with teams sent from Igando to assist in the firefighting efforts.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found several makeshift shops already engulfed in flames.
Firefighters from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, along with LASEMA and other emergency personnel, worked tirelessly to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby properties. The fire was eventually brought under control, although significant damage had already occurred.
