Eldee reveals how he influenced Wizkid’s early career

Nigerian singer Eldee The Don has shared insights into how he played a significant role in shaping Wizkid’s musical direction during the early stages of his career.
Speaking on the Adesope Live show, Eldee revealed that he convinced the Grammy-winning artist to explore Afrobeats.
At the time, Wizkid was signed to the EME record label and had a strong inclination towards Reggae and Dancehall music.
Eldee advised him to blend these genres with Nigerian musical influences, creating a sound that would resonate with local audiences.
Eldee noted: “Wizkid was leaning towards Reggae and Dancehall when Banky W signed him before he dropped his first single, but I told him he has to find a middle ground and do something Nigerian with a lot of flavors in it.”
