 Lagos govt shuts down supermarket for selling expired products

The Lagos State Government has sealed off a supermarket in the FESTAC area for selling expired products to unsuspecting customers.

Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, revealed the action on social media, emphasizing the state’s zero tolerance for consumer exploitation.

He disclosed that the supermarket owner would face prosecution for the misconduct, which violates public health and safety regulations.

Wahab reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that businesses adhere to standards that protect consumers, warning other establishments against engaging in similar practices.

‘’The Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (@lasgcopa) seals Blessed Happy Homes Superstore at 6th Avenue, 13th Road, Festac Town, for selling expired products, violating health and safety regulations, putting customers at risk, and engaging in practices that compromise consumer well-being. @followlasg stated that the owner of the supermarket will be prosecuted and face legal consequences for their misconduct.”
