Fire guts shops at popular Damaturu market

A devastating fire outbreak early Tuesday morning razed the popular Bayan Tasha market in Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State, leaving a trail of destruction and losses amounting to millions of naira.

The inferno, which engulfed several shops, kiosks, and business establishments, broke out in the early hours of the morning, catching traders and residents by surprise.

Swift action by the Yobe State Fire Service helped bring the fire under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby residential areas.
