Man arrested for allegedly r@ping, assaulting female neighbour with grinding stone in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested Michael Akinmolayan for allegedly raping a female neighbor in the Sango-Ota area of the state.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred on Thursday, with Akinmolayan allegedly attacking the survivor with a grinding stone, striking her on the head and inflicting severe injuries.
According to a statement from the police on Saturday, officers from the Sango-Ota Division promptly responded to the scene after receiving the report and took Akinmolayan into custody. The survivor was immediately rushed to a hospital for urgent medical care.
The state command’s spokesperson Omolola Odutola explained, “On November 28, the survivor’s brother, Ogundimu, who resides in Mushin, Lagos State, reported the crime. He was informed by neighbours in Sango-Ota that his sister had been seriously injured by Akinmolayan.

“The suspect inflicted head injuries during the assault. Detectives visited the scene, took photographs, and transported the survivor to Banuso Clinic, Ota, for medical treatment.
“Evidence, including blood-stained clothing and the grinding stone allegedly used in the attack, was recovered. A preliminary investigation is underway.”
A similar incident was reported by PUNCH Metro on September 18, 2024, when the police arrested a man named Tahiru Hamidu for allegedly engaging in non-consensual sexual intercourse with a mentally unstable married woman in the Owode community, located in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area.
Hamidu allegedly took advantage of the woman’s condition, assaulting her repeatedly until his arrest by officers from the Owode Egba Division on September 12, 2024.
The suspect was also accused of threatening to kill the survivor’s brother-in-law, identified as Shofolahan if he refused to allow him to continue assaulting his brother’s wife.
