Abuja Herbalist lands in critical condition while testing bulletproof charm on self

In a dramatic turn of events in Abuja, a local herbalist, Ismail Usman, shot himself in the stomach while testing a self-made “bulletproof” charm.

The incident, confirmed by Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, occurred on November 23 in Kuchibuyi Village.

According to Adeh, Usman used a shotgun on himself to assess the effectiveness of his charm. A distress call from a resident, Shandam Michael, prompted officers from the Byazhin Division to rush to the scene, where they found the herbalist in critical condition.

Usman was initially treated at Kubwa General Hospital before being transferred to Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital for further medical attention.

Police conducted a search of his residence, recovering the homemade firearm and several charms believed to have been part of the ill-fated experiment.

Adeh revealed that investigations are ongoing, and Usman is expected to face charges for unlawful possession of firearms and attempted suicide, as outlined in Section 231 of the Penal Code Law of Northern Nigeria.

The police spokesperson also emphasized the importance of community vigilance, urging residents to report any unusual or suspicious activities.
