Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has approved a new minimum wage of ₦70,000 for workers in the state.

This landmark decision follows a two-day negotiation between the state government and representatives of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and Joint Union Negotiating Council.

Governor Uzodimma described the wage increase as a reflection of his administration’s dedication to enhancing workers’ welfare.

Acknowledging the challenges posed by the current economic climate and rising living costs, he emphasized the importance of providing better incentives to support the working community.
