Kidnapped NDLEA officers in Delta regain freedom

The Delta State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has confirmed the safe release of its officers who were abducted on Thursday night near the agency’s headquarters off Isah-Ogwashi-Uku Road, Aniocha South Local Government Area.
Platinumpost reported that the officers were ambushed and kidnapped by armed hoodlums around 8 p.m. while returning from work. Their abduction caused significant concern, with reports suggesting that the assailants had closely monitored their routine.
Speaking on Monday in Asaba, the spokesperson for the Delta State NDLEA Command, Mr. John Kennedy, announced that the officers were released on Sunday night.
He attributed their freedom to sustained pressure from the NDLEA and assistance from other security agencies.
Mr. Kennedy did not disclose whether a ransom was paid or if arrests were made in connection with the abduction. However, he assured the public that investigations are ongoing to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.
He said, “I want to confirm the release of our officers. They were released on Sunday night after much pressure from the agency and other sisters agencies.
“The senior officer was not abducted along with his orderly as it was reported. The senior officer was abducted and another officer was abducted in another location entirely.”
