Dino : I’ve never dated politician or engaged in ‘runs’ — Ashmusy

Popular Nigerian skitmaker and brand influencer, Amarachi Amusi, widely known as Ashmusy, has refuted claims linking her to romantic relationships with politicians or engaging in ‘runs’ to make ends meet.

This clarification comes amidst persistent rumours about her alleged relationship with former lawmaker and socialite Dino Melaye.

The speculation gained traction last year after a prominent Instagram blogger shared a collage of Dino Melaye, Ashmusy, and fellow influencer Nons Miraj, hinting at a possible connection between them.

Speaking on the programme #WithChude, Ashmusy passionately defended her reputation, emphasizing that her success is the product of hard work and determination.

She said: “I built everything myself. No sugar daddy, no ‘runs,’ no cutting corners. I pulled myself up from nothing.” According to her, she overcame significant challenges to establish multiple successful businesses.

Recalling her early life, the Enugu State-born influencer shared how her mother struggled with loan sharks to provide for her and her siblings in the absence of their father. During her university days, Ashmusy revealed that she borrowed wigs to fit in with the so-called ‘big girls’ on campus and even used borrowed wigs to launch her first business.

Ashmusy also disclosed that she attended over 100 auditions, including Big Brother Naija, without any success, demonstrating her persistence despite repeated rejections.

Months ago, Ashmusy was reportedly accused by activist Martin Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, of failing to deliver on an advertising deal after allegedly receiving one million Naira from a businessman.

In addition to her achievements as a skitmaker, Ashmusy is also an actress, with her breakout role in the acclaimed 2019 movie The Alter Date. She has garnered over 1.9 million followers on Instagram, where she continues to captivate her audience with creative content.
