Equatorial Guinea’s ex-anti-graft chief, Engonga, remanded in prison amid s€x scandal

An Equatorial Guinean court has ordered the detention of Baltasar Engonga, the former Director-General of the country’s National Financial Investigation Agency, amid allegations of multiple sex scandals and corruption.
Engonga is being held at Malabo’s Black Beach Prison.
The former anti-corruption chief was recently arrested following accusations of extramarital affairs involving prominent figures, including the sister of Equatorial Guinea’s president and spouses of influential officials.
During an investigation into suspected fraud, authorities conducted an unannounced search of Engonga’s residence and office. This search reportedly uncovered CDs containing videos of Engonga’s encounters with several married women.
The recovered videos allegedly depict interactions with high-profile individuals, including the wives of various government officials, such as the Director-General of Police, and other prominent figures, along with the president’s sister.

Media outlet Ahora EG confirmed Engonga’s dismissal and detention, while a fact-check by Dubawa verified his incarceration on corruption charges at Black Beach Prison.
