Rudeboy accuses Mr. P of song theft, vows to release original track

Nigerian artist Paul Okoye, known as Rudeboy, has alleged that his twin brother, Peter Okoye (Mr. P), has used his intellectual property without permission.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, Rudeboy claimed that Mr. P’s new single, “Winning,” was intended for his upcoming album.
Mr. P’s release of “Winning” follows the recent split of Psquare, the popular music duo the brothers formed together.
Rudeboy further claimed that the track had been taken over by the music producer.
“Written and sang by Rudeboy. Produced by same producer. Now how come? Now am I supposed to release another version? Mr Producer, your case is for another day.
“Just a simple thing, bring 6 songs, let me bring 6 songs. I submitted 6 songs to the so-called management. Why are you singing my own song? Word for word. Song that was supposed to be in my album next year June.”
Rudeboy also warned that he would release “original versions of any copied songs,” emphasizing that “the days of manipulation are over.”
“The days of manipulation are over. And to the management, make I hear any song wey na only me sing, I go release the original version. Oloriburuku! Music is not that hard,” he wrote.
Psquare, the duo known for multiple hits, split in 2017 following a disagreement between the brothers. Although they reconciled in November 2021, the reunion was brief, with Rudeboy recently accusing Mr. P of orchestrating his arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
