Human rights radio goes off air in protest against arrest of minors

Human Rights Radio, an Abuja-based station owned by activist Ahmed Isah, has gone off the air to protest the detention of minors following their involvement in the #EndBadGovernance protest.
Isah, well-known for hosting the station’s popular Berekete Family breakfast program, announced the shutdown on Monday, expressing his shock and anger after learning about the minors’ situation.
Calling into the program around 8:20 a.m., Isah shared his frustration and ordered the station to cease broadcasting immediately.

He stated that Human Rights Radio would remain off-air until Tuesday, when further discussions on the issue would take place.
The station is expected to temporarily resume broadcasting on Wednesday to allow listeners to call in and share their views on the matter.
The arrest of the minors has sparked public outrage, adding to the mounting pressure on President Tinubu’s administration after images of the children circulated widely online last week.
