Senate confirms Bianca, others as ministers

The Senate has officially approved the appointment of Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
Alongside her, the Senate confirmed several other ministerial nominees, including Dr. Jumoke Oduwole as Minister of Industry, Trade, and Development; Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction; and Muhammadu Dingyadi as Minister of Labour and Employment.
Additional confirmations include Idi Muktar Maiha as Minister of Livestock Development, Yusuf Ata as Minister of State for Housing, and Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad as Minister of State for Education.

The approvals came after an extensive screening process that lasted approximately five hours. Prior to the confirmations, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele moved a motion to suspend the rules, allowing the Special Adviser to the President on Senate matters, Basheer Lado, to present the nominees to the chamber.
Last Thursday, Senate President GodsWill Akpabio conveyed President Bola Tinubu’s nominations for the new ministers.
