Suspended commissioner dragged to Shari’a Court over alleged illicit affair with married woman

The Kano State Upper Shari’a Court 1, Kofar Kudu, is set to begin hearing a criminal complaint against the suspended Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwal Danladi Sankara, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
The complaint was filed by Nasiru Bulama, who accuses Sankara of having an illicit affair with his wife, which, if proven, would violate Islamic law.
The case gained public attention following Sankara’s arrest by the Kano State Hisbah Board last Thursday, when he was found in a compromising situation with a married woman in an uncompleted building at Lamido Crescent, Nassarawa GRA, Kano.

This incident led to his suspension from official duties by the Jigawa State government.
Sankara’s lawyer, Sadam Ibrahim, asserts that his client is innocent and ready to defend himself in court. “Our client is prepared to clear his name and is committed to ensuring justice is served,” Ibrahim stated.
