LG polls : APC secures all 21 chairmanship, 239 councillorship seats in Kogi

In the October 19, 2024, local government elections in Kogi State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) claimed victory in all 21 local government chairmanship positions and 239 councillorship seats.
Announcing the results in Lokoja, the Chairman of the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC), Mr. Mamman Nda-Eri, described the elections as peaceful, transparent, and credible.
Among the winners was a female candidate who emerged as the chairperson of Ogori-Magongo Local Government, a notable achievement in the election.

“APC performed excellently; it cleared all the chairmanship and councillorship positions, leaving nothing to the other 18 political parties that took part in the election,” Nda-Eri stated.
He further confirmed that the results announced at the KOSIEC headquarters were consistent with those declared by the Returning Officers at various collation centers.
“As Chairman of KOSIEC, I hereby confirm the results earlier collated and returned by the Returning Officers,” he added.
Nda-Eri expressed gratitude to electoral officials, security personnel, observers, and journalists for their contributions, which ensured the smooth conduct of the election.
