Bandits kill 19, abduct others in Katsina multiple attacks

In a series of devastating attacks, bandits have killed at least 19 people, injured several others, and abducted numerous residents from various communities in Katsina State.
The wave of violence has left many residents in fear, as bandits continue to wreak havoc across the region.
According to reports, the attacks began early on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. In Ammarawa village, four people were killed, and one resident was injured in an early morning raid.
Around the same time, another group of bandits attacked Dan Gani village, killing one person and abducting seven others. In Tudu village, a woman named Saude was kidnapped later that morning around 9 a.m.
Earlier in the week, on Monday, bandits launched an assault on Kukasheka village in Kankara Local Government Area, killing four people and injuring others.

Residents in the area have voiced their frustrations, stating that the violence has made it nearly impossible to harvest crops safely.
One local shared a heartbreaking story of personal loss, recounting how his father was attacked on their farm just two days after his brother had been killed by the same group.
His father, who sustained severe head injuries, tragically died nine days later in the hospital.
In a separate attack in Unguwar Dan Marka, located in the Guga district of Bakori Local Government Area, sporadic gunfire claimed the lives of eight people, including Usman Unguwa, while three others were injured.
These repeated attacks have left many communities devastated, with residents calling on authorities for stronger security measures to curb the relentless assaults and restore peace to the region.
