BREAKING: Fire guts another Rivers LG council headquarters

A section of the Ikwerre Local Government Council secretariat has been set on fire, adding to the growing unrest in Rivers State.

This incident follows a similar fire at the Eleme Local Government Council secretariat, which was  reported earlier by platinumpost.

The fires come shortly after the Inspector-General of Police ordered the withdrawal of officers stationed at the secretariats, initially deployed to prevent violence.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and the police have yet to issue an official statement on the matter.

The arson incidents have heightened concerns about the potential for further violence in Ikwerre and other local councils across the state.
