Ganduje opens up on how new SAN rescued APC from N1.5bn debt

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has opened up on how Prof. Abubakar Kana, one of the newly appointed Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN), successfully helped the party avoid a N1.5 billion debt by having a garnishee order set aside.
Kana, who serves as the APC’s national legal adviser, was among the 87 legal practitioners honored with the SAN title on Monday.
Speaking Thursday during the reception in his honour, he disclosed that his strategic counsel and exceptional advocacy skills protected the party’s interests, and ensured victories in critical cases.

He highlighted Kana’s swift interventions, crediting him for saving the party from significant financial strain, while also commending his role in negotiating a settlement for a N92 million judgment against the APC.
Through his deputy, Ali Bukar Dalori, Ganduje also extended his praise to Abdul Adamu Fagge, another recipient of the SAN title, for his outstanding legal expertise and dedication to the profession, especially within Kano State.
“Their expertise has been instrumental in supporting the APC’s mandate, contributing significantly to the growth of democracy in Nigeria. This SAN recognition solidifies their status as legal authorities in the country and reinforces the APC’s reputation for excellence. It reflects our party’s commitment to upholding integrity,” Ganduje said.
“As we celebrate this achievement, we acknowledge Professor Kana’s and Abdul Adamu Fagge’s relentless efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s democratic institutions, promote the rule of law, and safeguard human rights. Their careers are marked by unwavering dedication to justice and a steadfast commitment to protecting the APC’s interests,” he added.
“As we commemorate this important moment in their distinguished careers, we not only celebrate their personal achievements but also the positive impact they have had on many lives.”
